Committee Comment – September 2019

Just when you think it’s been a good month, but fairly routine, the Supercars calendar is announced and Perth is definitely on the line-up. 2020 is the 60th anniversary season for Supercars, and the Wanneroo meeting which is on May 15 – 17 will see a slightly different format than in 2019. Supercars reports: “Instead of racing on Friday and Saturday nights, the now 2x200km heats will be spread across Saturday night and Sunday evening.” Make sure you put the dates into your calendar, remember every WASCC General Member is entitled to entry across every day of the event as well as access to McCrackan House.

August saw a great race meeting and our facility has been busy as usual with lots of other events and activities. Some of these include Tuning Days, Drift Practice, bike ride days, V8 Drive Day, Fastlane race school, Drift School WA, MX5, D1WA as well as WA Police and FMG.

A posse of Saloon Car competitors head to Hidden Valley in Darwin for the Rightway National Saloon Car Nationals on September 6. We hope the racing is a good as the weather up there at this time of year. Wishing the team every success.

The rollout of the WASCC Customer Management System is progressing well. At present the web portal is in the testing phase, to iron out any teething bugs. The membership will be advised when it is ready.

The September race meeting is going to be a big event. Formula 1000 + 6SR Category have the Kostera Cup up for grabs and Formula Vee are contesting their annual BM Graphics Trophy and Morton Plate event. Good luck to all competitors and thanks in advance to our officials and management team.
