As the WA Sporting Car Club heads into it’s September race meet and fine weather in the mid 20s expected, the club is again welcoming back spectators to the Wanneroo Raceway park and view areas for just $5 per car.

With large field numbers turning out regularly for the WA Sporting Car Club monthly member meets since COVID-19 restrictions were lifted permitting racing, the number of spectators has increased too with the park and view areas regularly being busy, even during the wet and wild August meet.

The Holden HQ Racing WA category has already released its 16 car line up with series leader Michael Howlett set to battle it out with Mick Woodbridge who is sitting only 2 points behind.
Other categories on track for the weekend include the always well represented Historic Touring Cars with another large showing from the Morris Cooper contingent expected. These tiny four wheel cars spend a fair bit of time around Wanneroo Raceway on just three wheels and provide some close, fast action for spectators to watch.

Excel Cup makes a return and this low budget category features some up and coming drivers who have made the transition from karting to tin top in their motorsport careers. The Hyundai Excel X3 1.5 litre car is the base for this category where, although there are some gains to be had mechanically, generally the results come down to skill, rather than money spent on the car.

Once again the park and view areas located in turns 1, 3, 4 and 7 will be open and spectators will also be permitted to wander the pit paddock area where they can chat to the drivers and look at the cars participating over the day. Entry is just $5 per car with gates opening at 7am, racing starts at 8am.
