The WA Sporting Car Club (WASCC) is pleased to announce the appointment of David Pitts as the General Manager of the Club and Wanneroo Raceway facility, effective as of Monday 15th of November.
With almost 20 years of experience in management roles for some of Western Australia’s top sporting organisations, David’s extensive knowledge of sports administration will be an asset to WASCC.
WA Sporting Car Club President Russell Sewell said David is a welcome addition to the Club, and his wealth of experience set him apart from other applicants.
“David was an outstanding candidate for the General Manager role, with a strong sporting club background that will benefit the Club,” Mr Sewell said.
“As General Manager, David’s key focuses will be on maintaining the stability created at the Club over the past six years, further enhancing our membership engagement, and continuing the great cooperation with our stakeholders.
“We’re excited for David to bring new vision and ideas to WASCC, and with this, new opportunities for our Club and its members.”
Mr Pitts’ previous role was the General Manager of Commercial Operations at the Western Force Rugby Union. Prior to this, he spent 15 years as the General Manager of Business Operations for the Fremantle Dockers, where he worked across everything from Grand Finals to multimillion dollar stadium transitions.
He said he was looking forward to taking on the role at WA Sporting Car Club.
“I’m excited to join the WA Sporting Car Club team and becoming part of the motorsport community,” Mr Pitts said.
“After working in sports administrative roles for almost two decades, I hope that my experience and knowledge can bring value to the Club and support the great foundations that are already in place.
“I’m looking forward to getting to know our team and members, and ensuring that the Club continues to grow and thrive.”
