Members will be aware that January in any year represents the time for significant track works and upgrades. The major work planned for 2018 so far is an extension of the wall in place of Haulpak tyres between Flagpoints 7 & 8. Works specific to improving motorcycle safety include a replacement for the current ripple curbing at Turn 5 as well as an arrestor bed at that corner. The diagram also shows a move of the current Haulpak tyre barrier at Turn 6 further East. Major capital works required to allow for the return of motorcycle racing (as opposed to training and restricted ride activities; works for which are close to completion) are to be determined and tested against MA guidelines.
