We are pleased to send you an update on the maintenance and improvements either completed, underway or scheduled at your facility. As you are possibly aware there is presently a dire shortage of skilled tradies and some building materials in WA, and these factors continue to impact much if not most of the work that is planned at the venue.

Replacement Tyre wall at exit of Turn 7
Ongoing for 9 months this project will shortly be completed and is now in place. The new wall will be fully compliant with the latest FIA specifications, is 4 tyres deep, and of a more modular style of construction which will make repair both easier and quicker.
This was the first tyre wall installed at the Raceway and we have wanted to replace it for some time. On behalf of the members we thanks Kostera’s Tyre Service for providing the supply of replacement tyres and our Ground Staff John Hill and Mick Blackbourn for their hard work on this one- its absolutely not a fun job!
Over the coming months and years – probably commencing after the Supercar Meeting (31/7 – 2/8) – the staged replacement of other older tyre walls will commence, along with the installation of additional walls.
This work isn’t cheap as, although we obtain fresh tyres from Kostera’s, the only way to legally and responsibly dispose of the old ones is to pay something like $5 -$7 per tyre.
Re Roofing of Flag Points etc
Two flag points have already had new roofs installed. Designed by Board Member Laurie D ‘ Alessio, the new roofs provide significantly more shelter from the sun (in particular ) and a number of points have also had windbreaks installed to keep our valued flaggies dryer on rainy days. Work is continuing towards the remaining 9 points having new roofs which will probably take the balance of 2026 to complete. All points soon will also have new rubber flooring installed as well. Additionally we’ve ordered other items in the shape of new flag carry bags and special mounts for the flag signal actuation boxes to make life a little easier for our great volunteers.
Bridge Mounted Starting Lights
Jointly funded by the WASCC and FSR Group these were operational for racing at Rd 1, worked perfectly and were much appreciated by the FSR racers and others.
