Formula Vees Team WA at Sandown

by April Welsh

It had been an eventful day for Team WA at Round 3 of the Formula Vee National Series at Sandown. Rod Lisson had a big off through the Esses and unfortunately ended up in the wall. Thanks to the sportsmanship of our FVA community, many hands made light work and Rod was able to head back out on track for R3 – but had to retire early.

It was fierce competition in the 1200’s with Mackenzie Matthews and Kathy Lisson pushing hard and progressing throughout the weekend.

Dave Caisley showed competitive pace throughout the weekend whilst struggling with a few mechanical issues.

Superstar Cody Hill was a top performing WA competitor finishing just outside the top ten in 11th.

Danny Cerro and April Welsh both tackled their weekend at Sandown with the support of Reynolds Racing and JRD. Danny made some great progress and got quicker throughout the weekend, while April gave the wall a little love tap in R2, but set a PB in her lap times and finished the weekend where she started in 20th.
All in all, another great weekend over East, and looking forward to Round 4 Sydney Motorsport Park this weekend.

Thanks to Formula Vee Association of Victoria for hosting a ripper event.

Rod Lisson’s car pieced back together thanks to the FVee community.
