At its last meeting, Committee resolved that WASCC would agree to take part in a jointly funded study with the City of Wanneroo and the Department of Sport and Recreation to develop a Master Plan to guide the future development, expansion and use of Barbagallo Raceway and adjacent facilities and infrastructure.

The primary objective of the study is to develop a plan for the overall site which provides for separate, but interconnected, racing circuits for vehicle and motorcycle racing, with integrated and connected pit, administrative and ancillary facilities. The plan will support the proposed infrastructure development with an integrated governance and funding model which supports a 10 year implementation horizon.

The plan will also consider linkages to existing motor-cross and go-kart facilities within the precinct and the potential development of other motor sport activities (i.e drift track, jet boat racing, 4WD training and rally, mountain bike trails, BMX track etc).

This joint study was announced by Mayor Tracey Roberts at a special gala function held at Barbagallo Raceway on Friday, 28 April.
